The Excitement and Nostalgia of NEET Result and College Allotment

Alright, this question made me nostalgic.

That elusive question which college have you been allotted in the first round of counseling? was the most anticipated moment I had been eagerly waiting for since the day of NEET 2021 result. It was November 1st. I had been waiting the entire day, and the results hadn't been declared by the time I finally tried googling.

Despair slowly set in as I returned to my daily chores, assisted by my mum in the Diwali preparations. As I finished up, I was exhausted from the anticipation. However, at around 5:30 AM, with notifications buzzing, I received the news. Mrinal Kuterri had ranked 1 in the NEET 2021 national entrance exam.

I couldn't believe it; I was like, 'How is this possible?' I was in such a state of disbelief that I double-checked my details on the result page. My blood ran cold when I saw the marks. An incredible 650! I was floored by the sheer excitement.

Quickly, I switched over to check my NEET All India Rank. I was ranked 4096. I expected a lower rank, but the joy was still immense. Although I didn't make it into the top 1000, I was still content to know that I would be allocated a top medical college in my state, Uttar Pradesh (UP). It felt like the best Diwali gift ever, not just for me, but for my entire family. We were all thankful to Maa Lakshmi for such an amazing gift.

Admission to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow

Finally, I was allotted the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, one of the top medical colleges in the city. It is situated in the heart of Gomti Nagar, known for its excellent infrastructure. On the day of the admission, I captured some amazing snaps that I will cherish forever. It was a poignant reminder of the year before when, just a mark short, I had secured 605 in the NEET 2020.

Admission Day and Beyond

On the day of my admission, I started with the White Coat Ceremony, a true rite of passage for medical students. It marked the beginning of my new journey, a path filled with challenges and new beginnings. I even made my first video edit, a feat that I feel proud of. It is clear that this whole experience was a dream come true.

Looking back, it is easy to see the fluctuations in emotions: from the excitement of securing a high rank, to the disappointment of not making it into the top ranks, and finally, the joy of being allotted a top medical college. But as always, all is well if it ends well. We are on the brink of a new chapter, a journey filled with knowledge and experience.
